Who Sets This Table

MEnU is a sensory supper club based in Johannesburg, South Africa, operating as an intimate social laboratory where twenty seats gather around one unifying theme, one central question, and a four-course meal built to be shared with strangers who quickly become collaborators in the room.

Every dinner engages the five senses through light, sound, the meals, drink pairings and the textures at the table, so the theme is something you taste and feel rather than only discuss. Prompts sit on the table all evening for anyone who wants to go deeper.

MEnU is made by two studios: ETHNOGRAPHIES.STUDIO and LOVE BANTU.

ETHNOGRAPHIES.STUDIO

Ethnographies is a sensory studio that explores how we feel the world, designing creator and brand worlds that live through emotion, blurring the lines between the interior and the exterior to create experiences that people are compelled to connect with.

Our work studies how the senses inform connection, helping us craft brand worlds that speak to our desire for community.

We craft happenings, moments that close the perception gap between a brand and its audience, turning story into connection.
